La Casetta Farmhouse is located in a perfect position to explore many beautiful places in central Italy. The historic town of Montepulciano famous for wine and movies is only 3 km away. It is an ancient Renaissance hill town with charming streets, historic buildings, and stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Within a short drive you can visit some of the most famous cities of Tuscany and Umbria: Siena is about 40 minutes away, Florence about 1 hour, Perugia 45 minutes, Arezzo 40 minutes, and Rome can be reached in about 1 hour and a half. Everything is easily reachable by car, bus or train and sometimes we organize our own excursions for special events.
The area is also rich in natural and cultural treasures. The Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape, is nearby and offers some of the most iconic views of Tuscany. You can visit Pienza, known as the “ideal city” of the Renaissance, and Bagno Vignoni, famous for its thermal waters and natural hot pools surrounded by nature. Chianciano Terme is well known for its thermal spas, while Lake Trasimeno offers beautiful lakeside scenery.
Wine lovers can also visit Montalcino, world-famous for its Brunello wine, and enjoy tastings in the local wineries.
The nearest sea, along the Tyrrhenian coast, is about two hours away. San Gimignano and Pisa, are also easily reachable with a slightly longer trip.
